Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors, Inc. announces changes to Board of Directors

February 2, 2015, Wichita, KS – Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors, Inc. announced Ryan Bronson of Eagan, MN, as the Chairman the organization's National Board of Directors. In addition, Eric Dinger, President of PowderHook.com was named as the newest member of the National Board of Directors. The 7-member board meets quarterly and oversees the operations of Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors, Inc.

Mr. Bronson is the Director of Conservation and Public Policy with Federal Premium Ammunition, and has been with the company since 2007. He has worked on conservation issues and for 20 years, and established one of the country’s first hunter recruitment and retention programs with the Minnesota DNR in 2003.  He also serves on the board of directors of the Mule Deer Foundation, the National Deer Alliance, and the NWTF Save the Hunt Advisory Committee.

"Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors, Inc. serves a valuable role linking the outdoor sporting community with more mainstream mentoring organizations,” Bronson said.  “We have the opportunity to move the needle on hunter and angler participation and getting the next generation connected to the outdoors.”

Mr. Dinger is the President and co-founder of Powderhook.com, a free web and mobile service that connects hunters and anglers with places to hunt and fish, is now in all 50 states with more than 535 million acres of public land logged. Recently the Lincoln, NE startup finished using public data from state and federal wildlife divisions to map all of the publicly accessible hunting land in the nation.

"There are hundreds of organizations nationwide working to get young people involved in the outdoors. Very few have a proven track record like Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors, Inc. Not only is Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors, Inc. effective at getting young people out, but through their national partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters, they're doing it with at-risk, urban-dwelling young people that may otherwise never be exposed to outdoor activities. Over 15 Nebraska-based organizations agree, it's time to come together to fund a Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors, Inc. 'Youth Coordinator' position and get this program off the ground in our Nebraska."

Pass it On Outdoor Mentors executive director Mike Christensen emphasized that all members of the National Board are volunteers offering their expertise, time, and effort on behalf of Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors. "I am excited to have Ryan step up as Chairman of the Board as we move to expand our reach with our outdoor mentoring program.  Having Eric join us gives us an entrepreneurial spirit that is necessary for the kind of growth and expansion that we want to see with the organization."

About Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors, Inc.
Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors is a Wichita, Kansas-based national organization dedicated to providing children with mentors who will share with them the experiences of traditional outdoor activities. The heart of the group's mission is to give children opportunities to connect with nature that they more than likely won't have without a mentor showing them the way. Partnering with organizations with like-minded preservation and youth participation efforts like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Pheasants Forever, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Delta Waterfowl, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the National Wild Turkey Federation, among others, volunteers with a passion for the outdoors can give a child the chance to go fish, hunt, or simply spend time in the fields with a caring adult.
