Mzuri Wildlife Foundation Renews Commitment to Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors, Expanding Opportunities for Young Hunters

Wichita, KS, March 27, 2026. Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors is proud to announce that the Mzuri Wildlife Foundation has renewed its support of Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors with a new grant benefiting the Outdoor Mentoring Program. This grant will further expand opportunities for young hunters, anglers, and conservationists to experience safe, mentored hunts, helping to preserve and grow America’s outdoor heritage.

“The Mzuri Wildlife Foundation’s renewed support is a powerful investment in the future of the outdoors,” said Dr. Scott Petrie, CEO of Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors. “This partnership allows us to reach more youth, equip more mentors, and create meaningful, life-changing experiences that foster the next generation of hunters, anglers, and conservationists.”

“We are very pleased to fund the excellent mentorship work of Pass It On and believe that they are doing life-changing work with their programs,” commented Amanda Nelson, Executive Director of the Mzuri Wildlife Foundation.

This collaboration will allow Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors to host more youth hunting events, recruit and train additional mentors, and provide essential hunting gear to participants. Together, these efforts will help bridge the gap between young outdoor enthusiasts and the mentored experiences that will shape their futures in the field.

About Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors

Founded in 2002, Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing mentored hunting and fishing opportunities to youth who otherwise would not have access to the outdoors. Through a structured, safety-focused model, we pair young people from diverse backgrounds with trained volunteer mentors who guide them through hands-on experiences that build confidence, responsibility, and life skills.

Many of the youth we serve lack access to land, equipment, outdoor knowledge, or a hunting and fishing heritage. By removing these barriers, we foster lifelong connections to wildlife and conservation while helping recruit the next generation of hunters and anglers, the primary funders of wildlife management in North America.

At a time when youth are increasingly disconnected from nature, our programs help counteract Nature Deficit Disorder by promoting time outdoors, physical activity, and an understanding of where food comes from.

We are actively expanding our reach, with a goal of serving youth in at least 40 states and Canada within the next four years. For more information, visit https://outdoormentors.org/.
