“I had thought about mentoring with Pass it On for at least a year before I made the move. My first mentorship was in January of 2022 on a doe deer hunt. My hunter did not score, but it was not for lack of trying. I realized I have a responsibility to ensure that the outdoor traditions I love are passed to the next generation. Therefore when asked to help with the introduction of fly fishing to the Outdoor Mentor program, I jumped at the chance to help put together a 4 hour clinic. I am not the best fly fisher, but I am willing to teach what I do know and that is something. I feel I am a well rounded outdoorsman as I like it all, hunting/fishing/kayak/camping/hiking/ect. I am going to continue to support Outdoor Mentors, as well as be a mentor, as long as I am able to do so and what ever capacity I can. I encourage anyone that has a love of the outdoors to consider becoming a mentor. You will not regret it.” - Sheldon Evans

“I really enjoy the opportunity to lead the kids on the upland hunts. Dogs are the key to a successful upland hunt and not everyone has the time to own their own or have the experience with dogs. Watching kids walk up and flush a bird is extremely satisfying.” -Adam Kuehl

“I have been volunteering with Pass-it-On for many years as both a big brother and a site based match. From personal experience I can tell you the mentor get as much or more out of it as the kids do. Having no kids of our own it was very rewarding to be there for our matches first pheasant, deer, turkey, dove. This is a great program that gives the next generation of hunters that may not otherwise have the opportunity a chance to get out and enjoy the outdoors as we do.
