Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors Announces Search for Pennsylvania Program Coordinator
Wichita, KS, June 24, 2026 — Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors is now accepting applications for a full-time Pennsylvania Program Coordinator as the organization prepares to launch its nationally recognized outdoor mentoring program across the Commonwealth.
The new position represents a major milestone in the organization’s recent expansion into Pennsylvania and will play a key role in building relationships with youth, volunteer mentors, landowners, conservation organizations, schools, and community partners throughout the state.
The Pennsylvania Program Coordinator will be responsible for organizing mentored hunting, fishing, trapping, shooting sports, and conservation education opportunities while helping connect young people with experienced volunteer mentors who can introduce them to Pennsylvania’s rich outdoor traditions.
“This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about the outdoors and wants to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people,” said Dr. Scott Petrie, CEO of Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors. “We’re looking for an energetic leader who understands Pennsylvania’s outdoor heritage and is excited to build partnerships that will connect more youth and families with safe, meaningful outdoor experiences.”
Working remotely from within Pennsylvania, the full-time coordinator will recruit youth participants, volunteer mentors, landowners, and conservation partners while planning and coordinating mentoring events across the state. The successful candidate will collaborate with schools, state and local agencies, conservation organizations, outfitters, and volunteers to expand access to hunting, fishing, trapping, shooting sports, and conservation education.
The position offers a competitive salary based on experience, health insurance benefits, retirement plan options, mileage and technology reimbursement, and the opportunity to help shape the future of outdoor mentoring in Pennsylvania. Applicants should possess strong communication and organizational skills, a passion for conservation and the outdoors, and a thorough understanding of Pennsylvania’s hunting and fishing traditions.
The addition of a dedicated Program Coordinator marks the next step in establishing a statewide network of mentors and partners committed to ensuring that more young people have the opportunity to experience Pennsylvania’s outdoor heritage.
“Every mentoring event begins with someone willing to invest their time in a young person,” Petrie added. “Our Pennsylvania Program Coordinator will help make those connections happen, creating opportunities that can change lives while strengthening the future of hunting, fishing, and conservation.”
Applications must be received by July 6, 2026. Candidates should submit a cover letter, résumé, and three professional references as a single PDF to Bobby Cole at bcole@outdoormentors.org. The anticipated start date for the position is August 15, 2026.
About Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors
Founded in 2002, Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing mentored hunting and fishing opportunities to youth who would otherwise lack access to the outdoors. Through a structured, safety-focused model, trained volunteer mentors guide young people from diverse backgrounds through hands-on experiences that build confidence, responsibility, and life skills.
Many of the youth served lack access to land, equipment, outdoor knowledge, or a family hunting and fishing tradition. By removing these barriers, Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors fosters lifelong connections to wildlife and conservation while helping recruit the next generation of hunters and anglers—the primary funders of wildlife conservation in North America.
In 2025, Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors hosted 879 mentoring events, served 1,698 youth, and provided more than 10,900 hours of mentorship, demonstrating the organization’s growing impact nationwide.
