David K. Marble
We want to take a moment to remember and honor someone who meant the world to this organization. For over 20 years, Dave Marble shared his time, his knowledge, his passion, and most of all—his heart—with the youth in our program. His impact is immeasurable. As we watch this tribute continue the work he cared so deeply about, we invite you to help carry his legacy forward. Consider becoming a mentor today. We know that would honor the way Dave lived—with generosity, purpose, and passion for the outdoors.
David K Marble, 72, of Wichita, Kansas passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
He was born in Wichita, to Dale and Madeline Marble, on September 13, 1952. David attended Southeast High School before joining the Army in 1971. His service as a diesel mechanic while in the Army would lead to a 45-year career as a Mercedes-Benz service technician. His keen problem solving ability made him especially suited for work on advanced automobiles.
An avid outdoorsman, David spent much of his free time hunting and fishing. His interest in turkey hunting evolved into mentoring children who were new to outdoor activities. David was involved with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Pass It On! Outdoor Mentors, Kansas Governor’s One Shot Turkey Hunt, and the Kansas Ringneck Rustlers chapter of Pheasants Forever.
David is survived by his son Matthew Marble; daughter Melissa (Stewart) Mitchell, and granddaughter Maddison Mitchell.
Services will be held at 5:30pm, Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Cochran Mortuary, Wichita, Kansas.
