Frank E. Owsley, Jr., age 62, passed away on February 5th, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born to Frank Sr. and Ruby Owsley on June 28th, 1959 in Kansas City, Kansas. He grew up as the oldest of 6 children, and enjoyed fishing and boating in his free time. Frank was a skilled driver, operating a cement truck and semi-truck for many years. He had a signature style of overalls, a ballcap and boots, until he became a Certified Public Accountant and had to start dressing more business-casual. Frank married Linda Merriman in 1996, and the two were happily married until her passing in 2021. Frank moved back to the Kansas City area after living in Arizona for some time. He was an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying spending time on the water in his many different boats. His favorite vacation was when Linda and he went to Lake Havasu in Arizona.
Frank was preceded by his wife, Linda, and his mother, Ruby Owsley.
He is survived by his father, Frank Owsley, Sr.; siblings Barbara Varvil, Charlie (Rita) Owsley, Howard (Karen) Owsley, Susan (Charlie) Mayfield, and Jenifer Hager; nieces and nephews Karen Owsley, Kristen Owsley, Jeremy (Kelly) Owsley, Leah (Michael) Villone, Ruby (Cody) O’Leary, Sarah Jo (Steve) McCord, Richie Hager, Timothy Mayfield, Zach Hager, and Alan Mayfield; 9 great-nieces and nephews, and countless friends who will miss him dearly.
Frank will be laid to rest at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens on Saturday, March 5th, 2022 at 1 pm.
