In Memory of Michael J. Bogner
Michael J. “Mike” Bogner, 64, of Parsons, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Labette Health. His death was unexpected.
Michael Joseph Bogner was born on September 9, 1958, to George and Patricia (Schill) Bogner in Hutchinson, Kansas. As a young boy, he moved with his family to a farm outside of Parsons, where he grew up and attended school. Mike was a member of the Labette County High School class of 1976.
He dedicated 45 years of his life to Sun Graphics, where he made significant contributions to the company. He was a dedicated employee who took great pride in his work.
Family was the center of Mike’s life. He was a loving father and husband who was always willing to help out whomever was in need. He never missed a special occasion for any of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mike will be remembered for his kind-hearted nature, his unwavering commitment to his family, and his dedication to his career. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
On January 15, 1977, Mike and Cynthia Swender were united in marriage at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Parsons. She survives of the home.

One daughter – Audrey Bogner of Parsons, Kansas
Two sons – Ryan Bogner and his companion, Savanna, of Glasco, Kansas;
Jon Bogner and his wife, Angie, of Yukon, Oklahoma
Eight grandchildren – Halley Morris-Hughes and her husband, Seth; Kaitlyn Morris; Jordan Bogner; Kendal Bogner; Aubrey Bogner; Makayla Bogner; Alexa Bogner and Brooklyn Bogner
Four great-grandchildren -Ryker Jo Hughes; Brynlee Hughes and soon-to-be arriving, Elle Hughes and J’Lynn Jones
Four brothers – Jim Bogner and his wife, Teresa, of Parsons, Kansas; Tom Bogner and his wife, Pam, of Parsons, Kansas; Steve Bogner and his wife, Heather, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Greg Bogner and his wife, Bobbie, of Parsons, Kansas
Numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Pat Bogner.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parsons. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Friday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary. In memory of Mike’s friendly nature, the family has requested casual attire for guests.
