Leadership Transition at Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors as CEO, Brittany French Plans Departure

Wichita, KS — September 25, 2025 — Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through outdoor experiences and mentorship, today announced an upcoming leadership transition. CEO Brittany French, who has led the organization with passion and vision, will step away from her role effective December 15, 2025, to devote more time to her young family. The Board of Directors will initiate a search for the organization’s next CEO to build upon French’s strong legacy of growth and impact.

Brittany has been an integral part of the organization since 2015, first as a volunteer mentor and later as a staff member beginning in 2019. She became CEO in 2023 and has since guided the organization through a period of tremendous growth—expanding programs across five states, building strong partnerships and sponsorships, and encouraging her team to serve thousands of youth each year through safe, ethical, and impactful outdoor experiences.

“Leading Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my life,” said French. “From the moment I began volunteering as a mentor in 2015, I experienced the true power of our mission. Since then, it has been an honor to help expand our program, build partnerships, cultivate a dedicated team, and impact the lives of so many young people.

While my decision to step down is bittersweet, it is also filled with joy as I devote more time to my family—an opportunity I feel deeply privileged to embrace. I am incredibly proud of what we have built together and honored to have played a role in this organization’s growth. I will always remain a steadfast advocate and supporter of this mission. I am excited to see the organization continue to flourish with new leadership!”

During her tenure, French emphasized organizational culture, operational growth, and expanding access to outdoor experiences for youth. Under her leadership, the organization strengthened donor and partner relationships, expanded fundraising efforts, and created new opportunities for mentorship and conservation education.

The Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors Board of Directors has initiated a CEO transition process to ensure strong leadership continuity. The transition plan will include a national search for the next visionary leader while maintaining organizational stability through year-end 2025.

“We are deeply grateful for Brittany’s leadership, passion, and the incredible growth she has spearheaded for Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors,” said Eric Dinger, Board Chair for Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors. “She has left a lasting mark on this organization, and we are confident that the strong foundation she has built will allow our next CEO to step in and continue advancing the mission with success.”
