Madison County Turkey Hunt

MADISON COUNTY APRIL 30TH

This event is being hosted by Jason Nicolino, Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors, Inc, and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. This hunt is open to 1 hunter. All youth must be hunter education certified. 

SCHEDULE + DETAILS

DATE: Saturday, April 30th

LOCATION:  Meeting at Madison County Area.

TIME: Arrive at 5:00 AM *

**(maybe earlier or later in the AM based on the pre-determined plan. May have the opportunity to hunt in the afternoon as well or instead of)

AGE OF YOUTH: 11 years or age- 16 years of age

NUMBER OF HUNTERS: 1

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Hunters Education 

WHAT TO EXPECT: Shotgun, Turkey Hunt. Hunters under 18 must have a guardian with them able to join the hunt. Timing is based on how the hunt, elements, and agreed-upon plan. 

FORGET

  • All participants must have their Hunter Education Certificate and corresponding Turkey Tag.

  • Bring Your Firearm and Ammo -Please let us know if you do not have one. A mentor can provide a firearm suited for Turkey Hunt!

  • Dress Accordingly To Weather

  • Wear camouflage and ideally camo to cover your face

  • Hunting License + Permit(s) Needed. For youth who are 16 years of age and older, you must purchase a hunting license. Youth under the age of 16 do not have to purchase a hunting license.

  • ALL youth hunters must purchase appropriate tags/permits for their hunt.

  • Be Safe & Have Fun!
